Hi all Can anyone please throw some light on the easiest and most efficient way for transferring only the Usernames replete with their passwords from one Tree on NDS 8.0 to another of the same OS version? I know about DSMerge but that's not an optimum solution in my case. Also, Is it possible by importing LDIF files? But if Yes! How should I go about it?

Dear Magnet,
There is NO way you can transfer usernames with passwords from one tree to the other without using DSMerge.
Problem lies in the fact that Novell encrypts userpasswords and stores the passwords encrypted into NDS. LDIF is a way to get info out of a Directory, but only those properties that are LDAP compliant. The Novell Password is not LDAP compliant. You can export all the users with almost all the properties with the ICE utility from Novell except the password.
