Hiya all...I am using Netware 5.1 server with Win2K workstation Sp3 installed. Last month it happened with one user and this time again it's another one....a .doc file, when accessed over the net (their Home directories on the server) leads to a hung machine. Upon restart the client takes forever to login and still doesn't authenticate the user. The problem remains machine specific and on that machine no user can login. The way out is replacing the whole NIC with another one and re install it's drivers. Re-installation of Client also needs to be done but only client re installation doesn't help.
I have checked the culprit .doc file with 3 different Antivirus programmes with latest updates..McAfee, Trend and AVG...nothing!!! How can a .doc file corrupt the Client or NIC drivers on Win2k??? Ca anyone pinpoint the problem??
