iam tryin to change my subnet mask fom existing 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.252.0
and it says the the later is less than the former address...how do i resolve it..

You are switching from a 24 bit mask to a
23 bit masked address with this change.
This will cause any number of difficulties
if you are not aware of what you are trying
to accomplish.
What are you trying to do?
