I have my network subnetted in dhcp. What I want to do is for one of my subnets, I want to turn off dhcp and statically assign ip address to the machines on that subnet and have the ip address mapped to their mac addresses. How can I do this.

I hope you don't have many machines that you need to assign static addresses to, could be a nightmare to manage.
You can create an IP address entry manually for that subnet using the DHCP console. I can't think of anyway that you can stop the DHCP server handing out addresses for only that partitcular subnet. Would it really be an issue if you're manually assigning addresses anyway? You could restrict the dynamic range to only a few addresses or something.

Thanks for the reply. We are not going completly static, just for that range for security reasons and it is only going to be around 6 ip addresses. Can I just delete the ip range that is there now and then just create the few ip address that I need manually.
