I get this message in my login script. Cannot figure out what is happening.
SERVERNAME (real name removed) LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-890: The specified server is unknown. LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-430: The following drive mapping operation could not be completed. [ROOT L:=SERVERNAME/VOL1:SOFTWARE] The error code was 8884
After i get this message, login works ok but i do not have access to any mapped drives.
All i do to restore the connections is right click the red "N" and login with the same name and connection info. All maps reappear and all is well.
Just to mention the context-server-tree fields are entered perfectly

1. If you are using client 4.83 upgrade to 4.83SP3 or up (4.90 SP2 will do). 2. If instead of the server name you write the server IP address and the login is OK then the problem is an SLP problem. The SLP is not defined in the client properties or the SLPDA is not configured correctly.
