Comment:

Ran vrepair on Netware 5.1 and restarted the server. The server starts and stops at colon prompt while trying to load netware NLM's at stage 5.

What should I type now?

I tried reloading the NICI files from an old backup but no avail.

Bugnet reports that "After installing Novell NetWare 5.1 Support Pack 3, there may be errors reported by NICI, and the console is stuck at the colon prompt (:). Novell says this probably means an incompatible disk driver, which prevented the SYS: volume from mounting. To fix this, get the previous driver from C:\NWSERVER\BACKSP3 and copy it to C:\NWSERVER

Does it load stage 5 or does it hang before loading stage 5?

Stages 0-5 are "Kernel" stages. This consists of loading Pre & Post Startup.ncf and Autoexec.ncf. If you are suspecting that something didn't load right in one of the stages, type LIST STAGES @ the console prompt for a list of all stages loaded and what was loaded in each stage.
