I am a new tech director at a school. We have 4 servers all running Novell. One of them is in a separate building and the only thing that is on it is the student logins for that building. We were going to get rid of this server. Right after we changed the students so they were logging in to a server across the street the computers in the lab starting taking a really long time to boot up. Right about this time, we found out that the server in this building had a hard drive go out. It had two hard drives, the one with the SYS volume is still running. Now the internet is extremely slow in the entire building, across the street everything is fine. Will deleting this server help out with the slow bootup, and slow internet in the building? Seems to be getting worse each day.

No, if the server is not the cause of the problem deleting it will not help. What hardware are you using. What type of connection do you have between the buildings. How far appart are they?
