Hello there,
Does anyone know why an application runnning on Windows could be very slow when opening and saving files on a Netware server? We have an application that does not perform very well and all it is doing is saving a file, it takes minutes to do that when it should take seconds. Company's IT personnel report that the system is opening and closing the file thousands of times, I understand that can be very slow but we are not doing that, it seems to be a problem between the communication of Windows and Netware.
Also the same application seems to be very slow opening a whole bunch of files on the Netware server, it is a lot of files but still it is too slow to be normal.
Does somebody know if there is a way of optimizing this? Is there something to configure either on Windows or Netware or is it the application responsibility to do something special?
Clients are using W2K, I will check which SP. Other clients might have Windos XP or NT 4.0. Novel versions might be varied since it is different people who are using our application and had that problem.
