Hi there,
I'm a netware newbie here. I need to create a new volume outside the SYS volume. My coleague had installed netware 5.1, but only assign 1 volume (SYS) on a single partition of 40 gb hard disk.
I have tried to do this: Load nwconfig Standard disk options NW Volume options it shows only one SYS volume wtih 36,102MB size.
Tried to Add, Modify size segments but cannot be done. I have to delete whoe SYS volume to assign new volume. Can sombeody help me on how to create a new volume without destroying SYS volume?

Because you don't know anything about NW volumes please read this article which will give you a good understanding of volumes, how to create, delete, resize etc. Go to: http://www.novell.com/documentation/nw5/docui/index.html#../usfile/trad_enu/data/hut0i3h5.html Good luck

Hi, You cannot downsize a volume without backing it up, and recreating it as a smaller volume. In this situation you could add another hard drive and create the new volume using nwconfig.
