In Excel, file open and data updated - save as - then the following error ; 0E 0028:C169CE3 saving to home Dir on Novell Server, save locally no problem.

Try saving the file locally first and then copying to your home directory. You shouldn't have to use "save as" if you are merely updating an existing spreadsheet.

Just to make sure all is right, have your network admin check your rights to your home directory. You should have at least RWCEM rights.
