Running .exe on Novell Netware 6

I am trying to set up a server on a machine using Novell Netware 6. I have downloaded several patches and updates to install. However, Novell is refusing to run the .exe files needed to unpack the patches and updates. I have tried several different things, but cannot open the exe's. Any help is appreciated.
