Reinstalled Netware 3.12 on a recent 20Gb Ide hard drive.
Old Ide.dsk allowed only 8Gb while creating the Netware 3.12 partition, so 12Gb are lost somewhere...
Now that everything is installed, with all patches, tried to use Ideata.ham instead of Ide.dsk
It worked fine, and Load Install displays now correctly : 8Gb Netware partition + 12Gb free
Question is : how can I resize now my Netware partition from 8Gb to 20 Gb, so 12 Gb will be included in the Netware partition ?
And if you can't resize at any time a Netware 3.12 partition already created, what's the way to create a 20Gb partition during the early steps of installation ?
Don't find the clue, because you can't use Ideata.ham from the very start of Netware installation, as it needs all patches to be applied before.
Thanks in advance

Partition Magic is a cheap utility, I'm sure you'll like that price if you're still on NW 3.12, that works great.

Thanks for the advice
Strangely Partition Magic 7.0 Pro doesn't let me modify my Netware 3.12 partition size (it allows me to resize my Dos boot partition, what a laugh)
Anyway, I resized it in another way, which is :
1) Load Ide.dsk at first, don't care if it shows only 8Mb
2) Install minimum system files + patch the OS with 312ptd (no need of anything else : Autoexec.ncf, Network card, users, trustees, scripts, working directories...forget all of it at this stage)
3) Load Ideata.ham instead of Ide.dsk in the Startup.ncf
4) Delete the 8Gb Netware partition + Recreate the 20Gb new partition using Load Install
5) Reinstall the System files etc...That's it, it's quick to do, especially if you use a Cd-Rom containing the System files

you also could have made another netware partition from the free space and then added it to your volume

Allen, thanks for the idea, will try it for sure if I need to reinstall everything again one day.
But you know, you feel so more comfortable deleting that silly 8Mb partition, which was created while old Ide.dsk was in memory, and creating a brand new one at once, while new Ideata.ham is in memory
Anyway, thanks you taught me another way to do it

I use Storage Manager by Portlock Software. It is half the price and is still being activley developed (Partition Magic is no longer). Novell uses this software to install Netware 6.0 from the disk....
