I read an article saying start from novell 6, some of the dos-based commands are removed, including pconsole. I'm just wondering if anybody knows the replacement for pconsole in novell 6? I need to manage the printing jobs on a workstation, but I don't wanna use nwadmin. Thanks.

Just use NDPS.

There's no real reason not to these days. Enabling the NDPS printers with iPrint will let your users install their own printers from a web page and job management can be performed by remote consoling to the server.
