Anyone else has problems renaming the Queue based Network printers in Win2k???Please advise!

Magnet - While searching for that TID you asked for I ran across this little tid bit of information. I Don't know if it will work, but I guess it's worth a shot. I will continue looking for that TID as I get time, I will find it. But until then, her is what I found evidently from another BBS Forum.


Launch REGEDIT:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers"

You will find keys (folders) representing each of your printers here.

Open one of the keys (folders) and look for a String called "Name"

Change the value of "Name" to be whatever you want.

Reboot.

Ta Da!

However, the printer will not show up as a network printer anymore, but that is just a cosmetic change to the icon - it will still function properly.
