we using novell 4.10.NIC card based on chipset rtl8139c.on client side system configuration is piii 850 /64md sdram/20gb hdd seagate with win98se/fdd 1.44/ with this configuration sytem does not remote boot: while on removing the hdd from the above configuration it starts remote booting.while there no such problem with novell 4.11/3.12 .

kindly help us in solving the issue

you can only remote boot a novell server through ms dos by adding the lines in config.sys and autoexec.bat
and files of that card such as rtl8139 needs its rtl8139.com or .exe this should be added in config.sys
the lines should see like this
lsl.com
rtl8139.com (or exe) optional
ipxodi.com
vlm /mx
