problems with Novell client and NT

I have a network environment with Netware 4 and a NT domain. I have no problem logging my username into both servers when using Novell client 4.8 on my Windows 2000 Professional workstation. But when I try to use a newer version (either 4.83 or 4.9) it seems to bypass logging into the NT domain altogether. Just logging me into Novell and the local workstation. All three versions of the client I've used have Workstation Manager installed. Any suggestions???
