Subject: Printer Offline - User Intervention Requ |
Comment: I have Novell 5 network running Client32 on Win98 machines. Had to reinstall Win98 on one workstation, and now I cannot print to the network printer que. I have set up exactly as other machines, but when I install in printer folder on problem workstation, the printer icon stays greyed-out (offline), and print when I select the printer for an application, it's status is displayed as "user intervention required". I am unable to bring this printer online with this one workstation, though can print to it from all others. I can seemingly capture the LPT1 port to the que, but printer never comes "online"... One thing I noticed, is that though I can view the printers and ques from the Network Neighborhood, this workstation will not display "properties" of anything; whereas, other workstations can display properties. This is the case even when I log in as Administrator. Is this a Novell problem or Win98? Any help appreciated.

Reply: (edit)When you say you are logged in as Administrator, is this Novell or Win98 or both. If you are in as Administrator in Novell it should be Admin. It appears you are not logged in with rights in Novell. Hope this helps!!! bigfoof
