Preferred Username Format

I was just curious about the preferred format for usernames. I am responsible for my company's Netware implementation, and I am not sure which format to use. (JSmith, SmithJ, Smith John, etc). Thank you very much for your input.

Hi Chris,
There's really no correct way of formatting user names, it really comes down to the best fit for your organisation. Some companies use employee ID numbers as the logon to guarantee a unique identifier, others are happy using just the first name and then appending initials afterwards in the case of duplicates. The important thing is that you maintain a documented and enforced standard so that it is consistant accross the organisation.
Any of your examples would probably fit, I'd lean towards using the first letter of the firstname plus their lastname or their name in full. Good luck.
