Sean,
During Novell installation, it never gets me to the step for creating partition.
Here is what happens...
I have a dell precision 420 workstation.I am trying to install novell netware 4.11 on it.
I have dos 6.22 installed. The step I have been doing...
-Create DOS partiton - 50 MB
-Format c:
-boot
-run 'install' from cd-rom
-choose language, server installation, netware 4.11, simple instllation and then it asks for installing SMP(Symitrical multiple platform)
-I choose 'No' for SMP
-It loads couple of drivers.
-Then it gives me error 'Following hardware found but no driver..PCI LAN Controller'
-I have floppy with a network driver, i install the driver from floppy
- It asks for slot number and node address
- I specify these parameters. It gives me error for slot number I have specified and shows some no. by default.
- I select the dafault slot number and the installation goes on
- System shown some drivers loading, some validations and then I get this killer error
-No accessed drives have netware partition ( (novell 4.11-154)
press to continue
-I press enter it shows me 'Examining the network for appletalk address for 3c90x_1_ESP' with please..wait below this message and after few seconds shows me the same killer error 'No accessed drives have netware partition (netware 4.11-154)NOTE : The Lan driver I am loading from floppy is 3c90x.lan
I have tried everything.I don't know wether its a driver problem, partition problem or something else.
Please help me...If you can sugest me aany other way to get this done, i would really aprreciate it.
Thanks in advance
-Kris

hi Kris,
You may use FDSIK to check what partition you have on your HD. You should see your DOS partition as one of the partition and set as an active partition. You should also see a NON-DOS partition there. The DOS partition itself must be a bootable partition and you should boot from there not your diskette.

Your problem is that Netware has not loaded any drivers for your disk drives, hence why it cannot create a partition. You should use the drivers for the disk drives and SCSI adapters that came with the server - not the one's shipped with Netware. This should get you going.
