We have two servers one for printing and storage and an other one with arcserve 6.6 . Both servers are under Novell 4.11. We change 2 weeks ago a switch on our network. (We go from HPswitch to Intel witch) We enter the same paramaters as the old switch. Since we have PB with the backup done by arcserve. (Arcserve doesn't finish the backup, and we have some tape errors or errors during connexion to the NDS and time to time the backup works for one or two files.) The backup is also very slow ! We use the ethernet_II frame between servers. Between Clients ans servers there is no problem. The problem is only between servers and Arcserve server. Thank you for any help. Jean-Luc

For the slow down, I remember when my company install a switch to our Arcserve server that if you set the port on the switch to duplex it actually slows down the backup. Turn off duplexing on the port where the Arcserve server is plugged in and try again, this helped us with our speed problem.

I forget to mention set the port to half duplex instead of full duplex.
