Hi,
I have just restored a 5.1 server with Native File Access for Mac in a single server environment. All seemed ok, but when I went to login from a Mac I recieved a "incorrect password" message. When I tried to change the simple password from "Console One" I recieved the "error saving simple
password for context.username to the directory, the returned error code is -1, 418". This happens with any user that had a simple password before the rebuild, when I create a new simple password for a user who did not have one before the rebuild all is fine.I have tried to delete the "Login configuration Key" in the others TAB from
Console One but that deleted the user completely. One more thing I have noticed, in the others TAB under the user properties
in Console One the damaged users seem to be missing the "Login configuration" part. I really need to know why this has happened. At this stage I only have a few Mac users that are testing the NFA for
Mac, but if I need to rebuild in the future I may have hundreds. I used Arcsevre 7.0 to backup and restore the server, everything else seems fine with the 5.1 server rebuild, I have run dsrepair and it came back with no
errors. There were no errors when restoring NDS or Volumes the server has been running for one week with no other problems.Glen.Barwick@utas.edu.au
Thanks for any help,
Glen.
