This is a followup to this issue

http://www.computing.net/netware/wwwboard/forum/3620.html

I was having this same problem under VirtualPC running w2k-pro.

I was using the 4.8.3SP1 client already. I tried replacing the NWGina.dll with a fresh copy. I reinstalled a new image of w2k and NW. I tried using the Patch mentioned above.

The problem kept resurfacing. What is funny is I was using the Novell client for months before this problem appeared. And then after the fresh image of w2k it recurred in the same day.

I don't think the problem is outside of windows since Ray's problem sounds exactly like mine and he apparently is running a real PC.

Here's what I did,

in the Novell system tray icon, go to Novell client configuration. Uncheck 'enable single sign on'. Now you can login manually to NW. (I actually prefer this) And the problems with NWgina.dll not loading seem to have gone away. (crossing fingers)

If you need to make this change while running in safe mode, go to \WINNT\system32\nwtray.exe

best regards,
jeffrey
