I have 3 machines that still show the windows login screen (MSGINA) vise the NW login screen (NWGINA) after install of NW client. I have checked the registry settings and ensured it was set to NWGINA but it still shows the MS login screen. After install and the first reboot the NW login screen appears, after the next reboot it goes back to MS Login screen even if NWGINA.dll is set in the registry.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, gone back to 4.8.0 and added SP, upgraded, manually deleted reg settings and reinstalled. No matter what I do I keep getting the stupid MS Login screen.

Yes I have tried 4.8.3 SP1. I have tried all the latest clients and SP. No luck.

Any ideas?
Rick

You can use either client but there are a few registry hacks that have to be done. Add these to the registry and it should work.
In the Hex Key Local\Machine\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon folder add the following two string values:

DefaultPassword (password you have set)
ForceAutoLogon (Make the value 1)

Also in this folder make sure that auto logon is set to 1.

Next

Hkey Local Machine\Software\Novell\Logon

Add the Dword value

AutoAdminLogon (set the value to 0)
AutoAdminQueryNDS ( Set the value to 1)

this works for me with 4.80 and 4.83

hope it helps you

Did you check in controle panel/network - click on ADVANCED and ADVANCED SETTINGS, choose the tab with the priority/order of the clients. Make sure, that the novell stuff is on top.
Maybe this helps?
