Comment: We have transferred our Novell network to another server. There are 2 users that have Micron laptops with Windows NT 4 that are now having a problem. When they are in Word or Excel and click to Save the file, the computer freezes for a couple of minutes, nothing but hourglass. This only happens when saving to a network drive, more so on one particular drive K. Selecting Save on a file from C will save instantly. They are using Office 2000 and Novell NT v4.8. If I logon to Novell as the same user on a desktop 95 PC, I am able to open and save the same file from K with no problems. If I logon as any user on the laptop with NT, saving to K does not respond. So, it would appear to be an issue with NT and the laptop. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Novell, uninstalled/reinstalled Office 2000, ran regclean, and searched the computer looking for any answers. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Please help me. Thank you

Reply: (edit)You say that you have changed Servers and when saving word and excel docs to the c: drive has no problems. Now are your users inidcating a location to save the files. If yes then check their drive mappings. If the location to which the files are to be saved is mapped then: open word go to tools | options | file locations tab and edit the default file location to the location you want. For excel go to tools | options | general | default file location and point to the loaction to the folder on the server.
