hi
wondering if you can help PLEASE :) we have a computer that has windows NT installed on it, and we have the Network product called Novell Netware, we have Version 4.83 for windowsNT and i have installed that on the PC, BUT heres the good bit, the thing dont work, i have tried installing it again and again to see if it does, but it just does not reconise our prefered server, but it does reconise one of the servers.our main server is on Bindary mode, and has netware 3.12 on it, where at the one it can see is in NDS mode, and has version 5 of sumthing like that.
i have installed the client in IPX mode, and IP mode, and also installed it in NDS and Bindary mode, BUT still no look.
Does anyone have any GOOD suggestions as we really really need the help
Thanks
Graeme(PS...all our other PCs are on windows and use a diferent version of netware client)
Cheers

carefull - NDS and bindery, packets IPX/SPX or TCP/IP and frames 802.2 or 802.3 gets awkward and may be confusing.
I searched on support.novell.com for you, as I am bit rusty with NW 3.12, I can do it hands on, but off the top of my head not so easy.
Read this article http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/1200557.htm
It describes how to check the server, so please do not change that, as you know your other PCs work. I hope you have access to the server console, (there is a remote console tool rconsole, but don’t bother with it an NLM has to be loaded and that’s another thing)
Then in section 1.b. it describes to check and change the client 95/NT, you just need the first sentence under that section heading.
For your Win NT 4.0 there is no need to look down it's ugly and refers to NET.CFG, (although your others PCs may have this older client and file, but in looking at it this may just confuse)
Good luck
