Greetings
I got a student lab networked with 75 PC using Novell 6.5 and Windows 2k pro.
With 2 HP9000 and 1 HP5550 printers.I would like as Admin. some way of managing or monitoring who is printing how much, and preferably listing the job names and how many pages each job is, and be able to pause, cancel or delete jobs.
Which will be better to use to Manage Print Queues Novell's or Win2k or 3rd party software???Thank you all.. any advise will be great!

No comparison. Novell is much much better for what you want. You can setup print auditing and keep a log showing who is printing to what printer and how many pages plus lots more. Managing the printers, queues & jobs is basic Netware management.
Best thing is check the Netware documentation. You should have it on the server or can install from the original disc. Look for "Managing printers" and/or "iPrint" to find the general area. [sorry i don't have it installed right this minute] It explains it all in great detail.

Hi Paracomp,
Thanks for your reply.
I connected the printers on the Novell Server.. and not using Windows to share the printer.
I respectfully connected created the printers, queues using nwadmin. I turn on the novell print queue and test print the queue, only option novell gave was Seq., Job name, Description, form, status and Job ID. I couldn't find the "print audit".Then I also open the Windows print queue, which have similar option BUT the pages shows up N/A which I need. Also after the print-out the list or what was printed on the print queue disappears.
Is the a way to keep the list and have the number of pages show when printinig? Thanks for all your help. Plase any advise is great. -nyck

I really need to reffer you to above to using the documentation. All i would do is retype the novell docs. If you do not have the documentation CD you can view documentation on the novell website. Also you can download the entire documentation CD frok novell's website. Just look for the link to the Netware 6.5 eval and it will include the documentation cd.
