I have a windows 2000 computer, and i would like to connect it to my existing school network, and my network admin isnt willing to do the extra work to set it up, and there arent any images for that OS so that they can just reimage the PC. I was wondering how i'd go about connecting to the school network (the computer is by the way in the school). I have the connection, all i need is netware and ZENworks and Bordermanager, but is there an easier way to access my school account space (.....mounting the drive?) and the internet, and the network drives? This may be a big huge stupid question, but I'd like to be able to set that computer up on teh network without reformatting and installing windows 98 or 95 Thanks

Did I understand you:
you have a PC with a network-connection and you want to access your "novell-stuff". Did you install a novell-client onto your Pc (to make a connection between the novellserver and your pc?)
Rgrds,
Tanja

yeah well, if you read the above message, i said that i wanted to avoid that method because my admin isnt just gonna hand over novell to me, a student. thats realistic. so i was asking if there was another way to connect to the servers and access account space and access the internet...somehow bypass border manager or something.....it doesnt have to be easier, i just dont think i have access to novell.

Well, obviously we need to tell you the diference between Novell and the Netware client. Novell is a brand. Netware is Novell's biggest product. Novell Netware is for servers Only.
To use the services on a Netware server, you need to have a client on your workstation. That's what Tanja asked, if you had a client on your workstation. If you don't have a client, you will not be able to browse the files on the shares of the server. The client is a free piece of software available on the Novell webpage.
Netware isn't free and it is surely not going to help you access the server you'd like..
If you installed the client, you must make sure that the login scripts are executed when logging in! By doing that, the drives are automaticly mapped to your pc. Also ZENworks (I think the NAL?) will be loaded...

Just remember one thing, You're the client :)

I hope you understand my englisch, I'm Dutch..
Good luck!
