We've got a Novell server, the workstations have been taken off line, however, we need to recover the shared files on the server. Not knowing the CLI i/f for novell, how do I display the other partitions (Fdisk shows C as having 1 2 3).
Any help would be really appreacited

Via install u can check the status of the drives, what size and if they are up, but the only way of getting files off these partitions is to get a workstation running.

You'll have to bring the server up to get access to the data. boot to dos, change to the server.312 directory and type server. From here you'll need to connect a workstation to get the files off.

Finding the partition information is useless; that's a dead end. And you cannot access the files in a NetWare partition using DOS. Instead, you have the following choices for accessing files on a NW server:
1. Connect a workstation and login.
2. Or, buy OnTrack Disk Recovery Manager for Novell, which includes a recovery utility that will allow you to boot a server in DOS mode and copy files onto another floppy or hard drive.
This is a slow, tedious method designed for recovering small numbers of files on crashed servers, so if your server works OK, you are better off getting a client workstation to login and copy files.

Download the toolbox utility from the Novell site. I couldn't live without it. It lets you do DOS commands from the Netware server.
