Comment: Hello ! I have a Novell Netware 4.10 server. System disk was mirroring. Backup disk (secondary disk) has a Dos partition but when i mirror the system that partition was erase. Now primary disk crashed and i have 1 disk 100% Novell partition but not dos partition. I don't know what i can do. I have 2 solution but i don't know if work: 1. Another disk with 1 dos partition, install novell loader and start novell from second disk (but i don't know how attach this 2 disk). 2. Another biger disk with 1 dos partition and that novell partition (I want to copy novell partition with ghost or with partition magic). I don't know if one of this solution it work. Could you help me, is anybody who know ?

Reply: (edit)Boot off of the second drive and load the novell loader. You did not say if you were using SCSI or IDE drives. If you are using IDE, set the 'new' DOS drive as primary and the second 'novell' drive as the slave. Load your drivers and then bring the drive back up. Backup your data, repair broken drive and remirror, without removing the DOS partition. Good luck.

Reply: (edit)rbelflower has the right solution. To select which SCSI drive boots, simply change the SCSI ID number to a higher priority on the SCSI chain. Usually, device ID 0 should be given to the SCSI boot disk. So, change your novell backup to SCSI ID 0 and the other drive to a different SCSI ID. Make sure your hardware is set to boot from ID 0. Then setup a dos partition on the novell drive, copy your drivers, start the loader, restore your settings and follow rbelflower's suggestions.
