Subject: Novell Netware 5.1 Adding HDOS: Novell Netware 5.1CPU/Ram: 450mhz / 512MBModel/Manufacturer: Dell |
Comment: Hi, I have a old Pentium 2 450mhz, 384RAM, 2 10/100 NIC's, 20gig Seagate 7,200 RPM IDE and 18gig Seagate SCSI 10,000 RPM drive. Adeptec SCSI PCI card. When I installed Novell Netware 5.1 on this system I installed it on the 20gig seagate. made a 1gig dos partition, 4gig novell one and made another partition with the rest of the space. I had the Adeptec card installed in the machine when I installed Novell. It was detected and had the drivers installed. Recently I used the DOWN command to shutdown the server and Installed the SCSI drive (to use for server backup). I booted up and I'm not sure what to do now. I opened NWCONFIG and didn't really see a option to format that drive. Please Help. I think the drive has a NTFS partition and I want to make it a Novell Traditional Partition. Please Help, Thanks again

Reply: (edit)You first have to create a netware partition on it. In NWCONFIG, go to the "Standard Disk Options". Select "Modify disk partitions and Hot Fix", select the harddisk and create a netware disk partition.

Reply: (edit)Our Sony Autoloader took a dive on us recently and we are trying to install the new one on Novell 5.1. We keep getting an error that says something like "No backup adaptors found", any ideas what we might be missing? James Flood SVResearch
