I have a novell netware 4.11 server, I have recently set it up and at least once a day it seems to just freeze all the client computers. If you reset all of the clients and try to log in again it says that the nds tree is not valid or something like that. I know they are right though and if I click the tree to browse nothing shows up, its as if the server is not on. Then I try downing the server and exiting to dos but when I type "down" either nothing happens or it downs quicker than usual (It does not have a screen) then I switch it off and back on and all is fine! I get the following errors in my error log:
Bindery open requested by the SERVER
and
direcory services: local database is open.
It also, at the end of the day seems to beep whenever I try to access a drive or any resources on the server.
Could someone please tell me what they mean and what I can do, all help is most apreciated as I am not experienced with Novell in any way.

Hi,
i think the server has some problems into the NDS.
First, 'Bindery open request by server' and 'direcory services: local database is open' are no errors. This are only informations in the errorlog. To check and fix NDS Problems you must type 'LOAD DSREPAIR' on the Serverprompt.
Choose unattended full repair. If the problem comes again look at the Serverconsole. After each Beep was written a Text Errordescription on the prompt.
Search for the Errorcode in Novells Knowlagebase (www.support.novell.com).
Bye. Jensen
