Greetings fellow Novellians,

I feel sort of dumb asking this, but this wwwboard has helped me so much. The question that I have is that my default login script for the server, maps all local servers, to drives fine. I would also like to extend my login script to map my WAN servers during the login process, so no matter what workstation I am on, it will map all servers.

I have tried to use
MAP h:=SERVER\VOL1
and
MAP ROOT h:=SERVER\VOL1

The result is the following error, in the Login BOx something like .. the SERVER\Vol1 could not be mapped to a local drive ...

however if I login normally, and use windows Explorer to MAP a folder, from a WAN server, it will reconnect on LOGIN, but only on that computer.

Any help on this issuse would be appricated, if not, thank you for checking in..

* Quick Note *

This wwwboard is cool, and has solved may problems from a User, and Administrator point of view, We all should congraduate the creators of this board .. Good Job Guys.

Your mapping would have to include the entire context for the WAN drive you would like to map all the way back to the tree...

I work on a lan but have wan drive mappings and they work, as long as you have the complete context listed.

Also have to ask, are those wan servers Novell file servers? If not you might have problems...

Hello I still recieve the error, even if I try to map with the full context

LOGIN-4.22.00-400: A network drive cannot be mapped to a drive
that is designated as a local drive.
[H:=Server_VOL1.SubTree2.SubTree1.TopTree]

Any more ideas, and thank you David, for your help, and yes, they are all Novell Servers.

Thank you all for your help, I have talked with a Novell CNE 5, and he told me that I had the format correctly.

MAP ROOT h:=SERVER\VOL1

But the only thing that was missed was a : (Colon) gee who would thing that novell is that picky. I do appricate all the feedback that was given in this Topic.
