Hi,
I have a Novell Clinet for Window NT/2000 version 4.80 running on Windows 2000. There is an option in the login screen called WORKSTATION ONLY. I would like that to be selected permnanently. Is there away to do it.Thanks

Workstation only will not attach you to the Novell servers (during login). If it is not needed, remove the Novell Client.
If it is needed, I can post the answer Monday.

Here sahm, I found this...
Symptom
The customer must check the 'Workstation Only' box each time.Cause
The NT Location profile is not saved with the tick in the 'Workstation Only' checkboxFix
Follow these steps:
1) Log into the machine (workstation only or NetWare - makes no difference)
2) Right-Click Network Neighborhood - Select properties
3) Services - Novell Client for Windows NT - Properties
4) Location Profiles - Default - Properties
5) Service : Login Service, Service Instance - Default, Properties
6) UNCHECK "Active Authentication" for NDS, Bindery and UNCHECK "Enable Tab" for Dial up (if applicable)
7) CHECK "Save Profile on Exit", Type in the NT user name under "Credentials"
8) Click OK It should show you a warning. Click OK enough times so that you get out of there.

there is a setting in the registry tht can be modified to set the workstation only as the default. the dword key should be changed to 1. you may have to create the key. you can find the exact key path on novell's site.

Here is the link to the website.

Basically you create a registry dword value under HKLM\Software\Novell\Login called Default WS Only. Value of 0 is the workstation only = Off/Unchecked and 1 is the workstation only = On/Checked.
By the way this only works for Netware Client 4.8 and up.
