Novell client 4.83 causes a blue screen of death in Windows NT 4 (with SP6a)Dell and Toshiba notebooks PCs when they are not connected to the network. The Netware servers they connect to are Netware 5.1 SP3.

I'm guessing the problem has something to do with Novell not being able to reach the server and continuously trying... If you go into your network settings and check the properties of your Novell Client installed, you can disable some of the auto connection features in the advanced menus. I'm not sure exactly what would cause the blue screen of death, but changing some of the values there would hit the root of the problem. Good luck.

I will figure that you are on Netware 5.x. Have you installed the server patches, and if Zen is installed have you installed it's latest patch-set? As of this writing I have found four (4) patches for C32/4.83. The patch: NT483PT1 seems to resolve several issues... but if you are at their site you might as well check out the other patches too: 236779, 290254, prntpvdr. Good luck!
