Does anyone hear the same crap that Novell is dead? I keep hearing this but yet I have not had any problems finding a job as a Novell administrator. Is anyone upgrading to 6.0?

I havn't had any problems getting jobs for Novell systems, and I'm not even Novell certified. It seems to me that Novell is far from dead, or it wouldn't still be evolving. Of course, I'm still using 4.11, so whout would I know, huh? As far as NW6 goes, I don't plan on upgrading, but thats mainly because my clients are all small school districts in rural northeast Texas.
Oh well, at least the scenery is fair and the Pecan pies are good.

Remember the adage, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing." Or, "reports of my death are premature." All the people I've met trumpeting the demise of Novell and NetWare are typically the half-assed, poorly-trained Windows nerds who think that Microsoft is poised to take over the entire world from a software perspective. Usually the people trained in Novell are more competent administrators from both the Novell and Microsoft perspectives because NetWare is a true client/server NOS that demands knowledge of both platforms, not to mention being compatible with Linux, Unix, Macintosh, OS/2, and DOS. Try managing all those platforms with this crappy "Active Directory" Not a pretty sight. Suffice it to say, Novell is still well-represented in the installed base of network infrastructures around the world and will continue to be so despite the inroads made by Borg Bill Gates and his legion of lemmings! Not that I have anything against Microsoft, mind you........
