I'm starting a new job on Monday as Network asmin. The previous admin left the job in a hurry and no one knows the ADMIN password for the Novell 5.0 server. They also don't know the passwords for the two NT boxes.
I seem to remember there was a way to break the password for older Novell systems. Is there still a way? Anyone may email me directly and I will provide a phone number, or call them back.

1. As far as I know (it is very little)you have to call Novell and they will as a few questions and will provide you with a work arround. The support tel. is 800-858-4000.
There will a charge of $300.00 half if you can provide a CNE number.
2. If you find a way then I would appreciate a note from you. Good luck.

I know there was a burgler.nlm available for use with 3x, don't know if this would help you with 5 or not?

In NT ..... Run the NT CD from boot. Select repair .... select the partition, tell it no on repair disk.... it will find your installation.... then several options will come up select default and security .... finish through the process... this will set the admin password to a blank password....
Reinstall service packs.

The following link will take you to a Tech Republic article on the SETPWD.nlm, a very useful tool. The article points to a site which has several other useful NetWare utilities. If a for some reason the article is not available do a websearch on setpwd.nlm and you'll get many hits. Good luck and
Peace,
Michaelbe sure to fix the link :-)
