Novell 6 and Novell 4.11

I have nine servers running Novell 4.11 and will replace three of the nine with new servers running Novell 6. My question is will 4.11 work in a 6.0 environment?

Actually what you would have is netware 6.x running in a netware 4.xx environment. Your netware 4.11 network is the dominant OS version. Unless you are going to totally redo your network. I am positive about netware 6.x running in a 5.x world, and 90% sure you would be OK with 6.x in a 4.11 world.

Thanks. I will be replacing my main server with a new server running Novell 6. I guess I'll try the old wait and see.

Is there a paticular reason you have to load the new server with Netware 6.x? Why not load 4.11 on the new one. Then upgrade the whole network @ one time to Netware 6.x. That would make for a cleaner running Network. Just wondering. Later! Underdog

I ordered the new servers with 300 user license for Novell 6 and will probably upgrade all servers to Novell 6.x next year. I haven't made the change yet, still looking into the migration wizard to transfer info from old server to new one. Any and all ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
