I'm new to Novell and wonder if anyone can help me out? I'm runnig Novell under Windows

2000 (in this case, may differ between customers) and I have an application (made in Delphi) from which I need to run the Nlist-command to retrieve information from a Tree in NetWare6.

My Tree have three context (A,B,C) and I need to retreive information from all of them

without beeing logged in as an administrator.

I use the Nlist command like this:
nlist user /d /co "OU=USERS.A"

This only works if I am logged in as trustee to this context (A).
If I change context, CX /r, CX B and tries to run the nlist like this, (still logged in

as a trustee to Context A):

nlist user /d /co "OU=USERS.B" , then I only get some of the information for the Users

in Context B.
I'v tried to run the command LOGIN <SERVERNAME>/<USER> , but this not seems to work.

Is there any way I can solve this problem?
I hope my question wasn't to messy.

/Heinrich

"Novell under Windows" ?????

You mean you're running a Netware server on a windows workstation network?

Anyways, seems to me that you aren't specifying a fully distinguished name as the context. eDirectory accepts abreviated names (e.g. JOHN.RESEARCH) IF you happen to be logged into that context. But when you are outside that context, you need the full name (e.g. .JOHN.RESEARCH.ACME) Notice the full-stop before John. That tells eDirectory that you are using the full name.

Another way of explaining it is by the "MAP" command example. If you are logged into the context "OU=PARIS.O=ACME" then you can use

MAP Z: = SERVER_VOL1:\USERS

...and eDirectory will accept that this volume is in your own context.

if you wanted to log into a server in BERLIN, then you would need something like:

MAP Z: = .SERVER_VOL1.BERLIN.ACME:\USERS
