I work at a small shop that occasionally does networking stuff for other companies. I can get just about anything if someone explains it once, but the company we just got a job with has a netware network and i've never worked with netware before. i'm supposed to copy all the files from one server to another drive to replace the failing one. there is currently no one at the company who knows anything about the network for me to ask, so i'm stuck. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am currently a systems administrator for a Novell network, and what I use is a software that is called "ghost". It is very simple to use and what it does is makes an exact copy(image)of a hard drive. It saves it up on the network, so that you can download onto another computer at any time. I use it to backup special computers in my network. I also use it to store an image of my workstation computers, this way if someones computer goes down for any reason, I can just replace the computer with another one and download the image onto it for the network. Good luck, and I hope this helped!

Go an pick up a copy of "NetWare 5 Administrator's Handbook" from the Novell Press. It gives detailed instructions on disk mirrioring and such. Mirroring is your best option. It makes an exact copy of the netware drive, and automaticaly switches to the backup drive when the master fails.
