Hello,
I have attached a storage device to my Novell 5.1 sp6 server. i already have another storage device attached same make and model. In NWCONFIG it sees the new device and when i want to create a partition i have the choice to use the full size which is 1907742.3MB, but when i type that in the reverts to 15.7M. And if i try to use anything else it reverts to zero. Any clues? Again Netware sees it and the full size but won't let me creat a partition.
Thanks,
Jay

Well the unit itself is a 2.5TB unit. And in NWCONFIG the "MB" is static.
Anyhow just for testing after i put the 1907742.3MB number in and after it reverted to 15.7MB. I saved it and it created a partition of 15.7M and left 1907726.6MB.
Wierd issue.

What file system are you using?
Netware Traditional File System supports up to 1 TB volume size.
NSS supports 8 TB volume size.Maybe that's a reason ?

Thanks, good to know. But do you think that this applies when creating a partition? I usually creat one big partition then create multiple volumes under that.
Thanks again

I didn't really know that.
Have you already tried to figure out this issue at the knowledgebase at www.novell.com ?
