Hi, I have a netware 3.12 server here at work and I have the only windows xp machine here and wish to access the shares and the server and so far i cant do that, and windows xp doesnt support the client service for novell so i cant add the client and i cant find any clients for 3.12 for xp im running out of options. reveal

Did you check if that version of Novell is compatable with sp2 for XP. We have exactly the same problem in our company , Novell and sp2 do not mix at all. Uninsatll sp2 and the thing works fine... My company has Netware V3.12 server (50 users) & recently purchased a few XP machines. I understand from Novell website that Client V4.19 is compatible with XP, can I just have it downloaded from Novell website without upgrading the user licence since there is no change in the server. AngieGoh

We also have the latest 4.1 server and 4.9 client but we still have some problems with SP2 in XP. It is my understanding the fix is not far away. As for the licence, past experiences have shown a licence upgrade is required, but that may depend on the qty of users, having almost 1500 , the volume itself gives us a bit more power to bargain with. On the other hand It looks like novel hasn't kept up with the times and put in a fix for SP2.
