I am having a major problem. I cannot get the Win2K client to work with my Netware server. I specify all the correct information in the advanced tab and when I click ok to login it says that the tree cannot be found. It is a Netware Security Message. It is detecting my server, tree, and context fine. I have tried upgrading too. When I tried the Win2K client from Microsoft for Netware it worked fine, but I can't access NWadmin or any other administrative programs. I have upgraded to the latest client for Netware, and it still doesn't work. Also, I have administrative rights.

Make sure that your protocol preferences for IPX include SAP. Not having this will cause the client to see the tree but none of the ou's beneith it causing you to not be able to login.

If you are trying pure IP environment try to remove all other protocol's then remove the client then reinstall the client with IP only. Then make sure the NDS is work right you may need to upgrade NDS or the latest service pack. Other wise use command "set dstrace=*H" it sounds like a slow NDS database.

I have experienced several problems with the novell client (4.81) for w2k. After hours upon hours of searching various websites i have come to the conclusion that the problem stems from a dll used by w2k and novell, this is called nwgina.dll or msgina.dll. this dll is also used by remote control software such as pcanywhere (login.dll).
I have installed all services packs on both novell server and within windows, but still get the same problem.
i have managed to get my workstation working by editing the registry mentioned in article 10054281 from the novell site (articles 10053212 & 2959587 skim on this topic).
though i still have problems when i amend any novell settings, including setting up a novell print queue.
I have now come to the conclusion the version 4.81 and w2k do not like each other, however 4.71 is fine and am now opting to install this instead.
