Netware client says user is logging in to too many stations

It is a netware 4.2 network. The users are limited to 1 network connection. Sometimes when a user trys to log on to the network, it says the user is trying to log in to too many stations etc. When I go in and LOAD MONITOR to view the active connection so I can delete the user, it is not there. It does not show the user as being on the network and I checked the other servers thinking maybe they had authenticated to somewhere else but they are not there either. I don't want to just give unlimited connections to everyone. What would cause this to happen?

I found that the Client Kits After Version 2.2 logged you in twice (I think 1 to the NDS and 1 to the server.) What I did was increase the max logins to 2, And upgrade all the Client Kits. Fortunatly it only uses 1 Netware License

You might want to make sure that the clients "clear all connections" checkbox is marked. It is located in the Netware Clients Advanced tab (under NDS).
This seemed to solve a lot of similar problems our students were having.

There is a setting for WATCHDOG packets you can change to soleve the problem. What happens is that if a user is logged in and shuts down his workstation with out logging out, the server will think the workstation is still on. WATCHDOG packets are sent out after set amount of time, and if the workstation does not respond after a set amount of time the limitation is lifted. You can change the WATCHDOG packets in CONSOLE MONITOR.
