Hi...
I'm looking for suggestions.
I want to run Windows 2000 desktops with the latest Netware Client. Each user has a login name / password in NDS. I do NOT want to create local NT/2000 usernames / passwords on each 2000 workstation NOR do I want to use an NT domain.
Each computer will be accessed by students so each computer could have many many users.
Using Windows 98 was easy because it didn't require it's own login procedure.
How can I, under Windows 2000, log in to NDS and not have to worry about authenticating to 2000 or an NT domain? Perhaps, make it where each time a user logins in they are logged into the local machine as default user?
Any ideas?

On XP I also had to do the following, but on 2000 you should not need to. Not sure what the difference is.

if i understand correctly i think what you need to do is install workstation manager this is part of the custom option with the client install you will also need to create policy make your students a member of a group then assocaite that group with the policy make the users dynaminic, volatile and to use netware credials then when a user logins into the tree novell will create a local profile and delete this from the machine on logg off hope this is what you whated

You may want to try this. We use some computers with WinXP and Netware 5.1 servers. With this exe file we only need to log in using the Novell client and do not need accounts on the local computer. This works great for students.
Not sure if this is what you want. Have fun!
