Hello,

Here is a brief description of what is happening. We have a file on our server, and whenever we try to access it, the client computer locks up. Even trying to simply view the properties of the file locks everything up. When I try to delete the file, and replace it with a copy, I cannot delete it because it is in use. So, my 2 questions are, how do I manually unlock a file, or how do I delete a file that's in use. Another helpful bit of information would be how to tell what user account the server thinks is accessing the file.

You might try turning of client-side file caching (if it's on).
See this TID:

You can check who has the lock on the file by loading monitor at the server and then going to File Open/Lock Activity and finding the file. It will tell you what connection has the file open.
Go back to the main menu in monitor and go to connections. Track down the number the the file activity monitor gave you and you'll be able to see who has it locked.
