I am new to Netware 6.5. I have many workstations that require a second login/password once you have successfully logged into the Novell Login section. This second screen is the Windows login, how do I turn this feature off so that only the Novell Login is the only login screen that will get you into windows? Also is there a way to disable "Workstation Only" on the Novell Login box? Help is greatly appreciated.

Firstly, you can set up the same user on all the workstations, and it can be stored in the registry of each machine. Here's how: (from the Novell Cool Solutions website)
(regedit)
For Windows with Query for NetWareKey: hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\ windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon
AutoAdminLogon=1DefaultDomain or Local WorkstationName=Name of Domain or Local Workstation
DefaultUserName=Windows User Name
DefaultPassword=Windows Password for the DefaultUserName specified above
Key: hkey_local_machine\software\novell\ login
AutoAdminLogon=0
AutoAdminQueryNDS=1
IMPORTANT:AutoAdminQueryNDS must be a DWORD value instead of a string value.
If you don't want to create this 'ghost user' for each machine (e.g. there are security risks) then you need to get each user to successfully login once. Once the second, Windows logon box comes up, the user enters his or her name and password. There should be a checkbox 'change windows password to match Netware' (something like that). The user checks this box. Now, the Netware password is used to authenticate (successfully) to the Windows PC at logon.
If you don't see that checkbox, then go to client properties:
Advanced Login> Windows Password Sync (on)
After that, do these steps:1. In the Local Security Policy on the XP PC, go to Local Policies\Security Options.
2. Set Interactive Logon: Number of previous logons to cache > 0
3. At a command prompt type: gpupdate (for Win XP)
HOW TO DISABLE WORKSTATION ONLY:It's a property in the Novell client.
Advanced Login> Workstation Only (off)
METHOD FOR ROAMING USERS OR TOO MANY USERSIf you have too many users to make these methods practical, or have users which switch between workstations a lot, then you need to use ZENworks. The feature in question is "Dynamic Local User." This creates or authenticates a local user on the windows machine with every successful Netware login. It accomplishes this because there is a ZENworks agent permanently running on the PC with administrative priveleges. However, i have never used this feature so you'll have to do some research or get someone else to help.

Your comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am going to look into ZENworks as I think it will be beneficial to my network. Thanks again.
