Reply: (edit)This problem occurs when you try to install 5.1 using an original or early release of the software onto a Pentium 4 machine. The problem is with the implementation of Java. You can either blame Intel or Novell, your choice. The Technical Information Document, or TID, that will help you with solve this problem is #10064269 and can be found on Novell's website under Support. If you can get an updated copy of 5.1, the problem doesn't occur, otherwise you can follow the instructions in the TID.

Reply: (edit)Mark is right on this one :) Go to download.novell.com and download the SP6 OVERLAY (which is Netware 5.1 with SP6 all in one installation). This should fix your problem, update you to the lastest file versions and it's free :) You will need to burn the Overlay onto a CD and then use that to install Netware. The file is large so it will take some time to download. If that is not an option then you'll have to figure out another way to get the updated service packs. On a related note, I'd consider adding more ram to your server, especially if you are planning on running database apps (ie. anything with Pervasive or SyBase) since 256MB is going to get used up quickly :( RAM is pretty cheap and the performance gain will be well worth the investment.
