Hi,
Certain of the problems NW5 + P4 installed in a machine P-III and I placed the disk in the new machine (P4 3.2 + 2 GB) it works normal ... when I copy files => 100 my MB server freezes!!!!!!!!

what can be???

INTEL D101 + P4 3.2 + 2 GB + HDD 160 GB

Is there a disk or CD with drivers specially for that new machine and if so, have you installed the drivers?

At the console prompt have you done a
seach for new devices

???

Hi,

HDD is SEAGATE BARRACUDA 80 GB (SYS) + 160 GB (VL2), it only freezes with NW5!!!! with 4.11 + SP6 + SP9 everything ok!!!! I tested 9 hours copying files with size 2,5 GB and everything works PERFECT. the problem this with NW5 + SP6 just!!!!!

For HDD IDE size: 80,160 and 250 GB NETWARE 4.11 + SP6 + SP9 work perfect!!!!!!!!!

I tested with mainboards GIGABYTE, MSI, INTEL, ECS, ABIT + P4 3.0, 3,2, D820, D945, CELERON D420, D430, D440!!!!!!

My problem this with NW5 + SP6!

Ok, I don't know much about Netware 5.0 because this version was the badest I ever saw.

A short time later Novell released the Netware 5.1, which is really stable.

So if you're able to use Netware 5.1, I would strongly recommend it.

This may solve your problem too.

i have three instances of such situation ..when even i try to run 5.1 on desktop motherboards ( intel boxed ) it end up on freezing server..but it worked fine on asus motherboards..

let the mind be in charge than machines .
