Hello, I am a Netware newbie (last time I ran a Netware server was in 4th grade :| ). Anywayz when I boot the computer (with a CDROM boot floppy) i go to the D:\ drive and i run install.bat. It shows a DOS type window (it's labled something like Netware 4.2 Installation) and it immediatly goes away and it shows a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner of the screen. No matter how long you leave it, it will remain in this state. I've tried to install this on 3 machines and all have done the same. The CDROM is in 100% perfect shape so this shouldn't be a problem. If it helps, my only partition is 1.3GB DOS. Thanks, Trey

I have not used Netware for years, so I'm a newbie also. I just ran into the same problem trying to install 4.11. I resolved it by using a DOS 6.2 boot diskette to fdisk and format the drive and then booted from it instead of a W98 diskette to load the CDROM drivers. Thanks, Bill

Yeah I had the same problem last week, if I had the dos partition formated with a win98 bootdisk I got the same as above. It looks like you need dos6.2 format, Saying that you should really use the lincence disk to boot off and format the partiton. As you dont want to be paying out for MSdos6.2 ;) .. Rob

i had the same problem. try with this options in autoexec.bat \mscdex.exe /d:oemcd001 /l:d /m:50 \DOS\SMARTDRV.exe /X and device=c:\oakcdrom.sys /d:oemcd001 in config.sys original win988 setup floppy is not valid
