I am considering an upgrade for our 4.11 server. Running 5 users (1dos 4xp) with 2 dot matrix printers. It's still running immaculately on a PII 266mhz with 768mb of ram. The only problem was resolved with a new SCSI hdd a few years ago.
However, we believe in replacing it before it gives up the ghost. So, we've ordered a Xeon 3.2mhz, with 1.5gb ram, Adaptec 39320 U320 SCSI.
I don't think the 39320 is supported in 4.11. We do have an Adaptec 2940UW and, 29160 we could use for 4.11 and, a supported NIC.
DO you think I should use the new box with the existing 4.11 or, install 6.5 and, migrate/copy the settings over? Which o/s would give the best performance given the spec?
